Operation Paws for Homes & Armed Forces Partnerships
Our adoptable dogs are often screened by Semper K9 and One Warrior One for possible adoption to be placed into their programs. Some of our dogs have been lucky enough to enter training and successfully support a veteran. We could not be more proud of our rescued dogs !
Our adoptable dogs listings might feature dogs from Nowzad Shelter in Afghanistan. This shelter rescues and cares for dogs 'adopted' by US armed forces during their tours of duty. When the tour is over, the military personnel can rest easy knowing that the dog that supported them will find a loving home.
We welcome the Nowzad dogs into our rescue and find suitable homes for them.
Take a moment and visit these organizations' sites for more information about them.
OPH & US Armed Forces-Partnership-Semper K-9: http://www.semperk9.org/ matches rescue dogs with wounded, critically-ill and injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. Semper K9 adopts dogs from local rescue organizations to give them a special chance to be the best friend and companion to a needy service member. We are proud that Semper K9 considers our adoptable dogs for this tremendous opportunity.

OPH & US Armed Forces-Partnership-One Warrior Won: http//onewarriorwon.org is a national recognized 501(c)3 born out of the frustration of its founder, Rich Brewer, a Marine Corps combat veteran, while trying to find help after an attempted suicide. Rich discovered a lack of factual knowledge about just what is PTSd and how it affects the warrior and their families. These misconceptions have led to the misunderstanding and often the mistreatment of those who have given so much for this country. Currently 22 veterans a day commit suicide*, many of who have struggled with the war within for years. Their needs are basic, but can seem insurmountable when dealing with the complex issues of PTSd. One Warrior Won gives a voice to the voiceless, and hope to the hopeless, while advocating for Honor, Dignity and Humanity for all warriors.
